The New 2025 Tahoe and Suburban Unveiled
December 21 2023,
Here is our first look at the brand new 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, two luxurious and capable full-size SUVs that benefit from the latest technologies and an even greater dose of refinement compared to their already competent predecessors. Here are some things to know about them.
Refreshed inside and outside
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban arrive this year with a modernised design language that takes its inspiration from the Chevrolet Silverado pickups, which were also revised recently. In addition to new front and rear facias, the Tahoe and Suburban offer new 24-inch wheels for the first time on sporty RST and premium High Country models. The popular Z71 rugged model also adds skid plates to protect the underside of the front bumper during off-roading sessions. Inside, both models follow recent design trends at General Motors by integrating both the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment screen into a single curved panel sat atop the dashboard. Here, the infotainment system uses a standard 17,7-inch screen, the largest in the segment, while the driver information display measures a more than respectable 11-inches. Another first for these models is the addition of genuine wood trim in the High Country models, and a redesigned center console for all trims.
A more powerful diesel engine
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban now offer a more powerful diesel engine option in all trim levels, including the Z71, for the first time. This new turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder Duramax engine, first introduced in the Silverado 1500, is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission which delivers the engine’s output of 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. This represents 10% more horsepower and 7.6% more torque than before. Sound deadening materials and a revised intake system have also been added to reduce this engine’s sound level. The 2025 Tahoe and Suburban continue to come standard with a tried-and-true 5.3L gasoline V8 engine, while upper trim levels offer the more powerful 6.2L V8, which is standard on the High Country.
A more refined ride
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban show improvements in ride and handling due to different calibrations for the suspension and steering system, including the available air ride and magnetic ride systems. The former provides selectable ride height settings that make for easy entry or increased off-road capabilities while the latter monitors the road 1,000 times per second in order to adjust damping in real time to provide a smooth ride with less pitch and roll.
A host of advanced technologies
The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban feature an impressive amount of technologies engineered to make driving easier, safer, and more convenient. For example, both models can be ordered with GM’s SuperCruise hands-free driver assistance system which can be used on over 643,000 kilometers of roads in North America. In addition, both models offer technologies aimed at making towing easier, such as the Forward Path indication system, which uses the surround view camera system to display exactly where the trailer will go before the driver initiates a turn, something that is very useful when navigating tight spaces.
